75 kms by road / 20 kms by ferry from Port Blair. Trekking area – North East of South Andaman. Exotic flora and fauna, endemic birds, animals, butterflies and elephant lumbering are the most interesting part of the trek.

Mount Harriet

mount harriet15 kms by ferry from Port Blair. The summer headquarters of the Chief Commissioner during British. It is 365 meters high, the second highest peak in the Andamans. One can trek upto Madhuban through a nature trails and can find rare flora and fauna, endemic birds, animals and butterflies.

 

 

Ross IslandRoss Island

Once the seat of British power and capital of these island, it stand s now as a ruin of the bygone days with the old structures in debris. A small museum named ‘Smritika’ holds photographs, and other antiques of the Britishers relevant to these islands.

 

 

wandoor national parkMahatma Gandhi Marine National Park, Wandoor and Coral Island

29 kms from Port Blair. This park is made up of open sea, creeks and fifteen small and large islands. Snorkeling equipment is available. Boats are available from Wandoor for the coral islands of Jolly Buoy and Red Skin.

It is 26 kms from Port Blair. Declared as a sanctuary, this is an enchanting islands with rare corals and under water marine life, a fine sandy beach and tropical rain forest.

North Bay

north bayWhile at Port Blair, the nearest place to view the corals and enchanting marine life is North Bay, at the foothills of Mount Harriet. Coral and marine life can be seen by snorkeling or with the help of glass bottom boats. Swimming should be limited to the shallow waters near the beach.
